FAQ's
Can you work from photos?
Yes. I often work from reference photos, whether that’s a landscape, home, or pet. Clear, well-lit images help capture the details and personality of the subject. If you have several photos, I can combine elements to create the best possible composition.
Can I request adjustments?
Yes — small refinements can be made during the approval stage, before varnish is applied. I’ll share progress photos along the way so you can feel part of the process. Once the final varnish is on, I can’t make changes without risking the surface integrity.
How long does a commission take?
Each painting is created by hand and varnished for longevity.
- Small works: about 4–6 weeks
- Medium: 8–10 weeks
- Large: 10–14+ weeks
Drying time can vary slightly depending on the season and humidity.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. All paintings are securely packaged and shipped fully insured. I work with reliable couriers to ensure safe, trackable delivery worldwide.
How much is the deposit?
A 30% non-refundable deposit reserves your spot on my schedule and covers materials. The balance is due upon completion, before shipping or pickup. Payment plans are available for larger works.
Can you paint from more than one photo?
Absolutely. If you’d like a composite piece — for example, combining two pet photos, or showing a different season or light — I can merge references to create a cohesive, natural composition.
Do you offer framing?
Yes. I can provide recommendations for high-quality custom framing that complements your piece and fits your space. Framing can also be arranged before delivery if desired.
What if I need the painting by a specific date?
Please mention this when inquiring. I’ll do my best to accommodate special occasions or gifting deadlines whenever possible, depending on my schedule and drying times.
How are the paintings packaged?
Each painting is carefully wrapped in glassine paper, cushioned with archival padding, and boxed securely for shipping. Every piece includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a keepsake "Tracing the Journey" custom process booklet.
Do you accept every commission request?
I take a limited number of commissions each season to ensure every piece receives full attention. If I’m not the right fit for your subject or timeline, I’ll always let you know and recommend the best path forward.
Do I get updates during the process?
Yes — I’ll share photos at key stages (sketch, mid-process, and before varnish) so you can see your piece come to life.
Can I see your previous commissions?
Of course. You can view examples on my Past Work page or in the Collector’s Circle email updates, which feature recent projects and client stories.
Ready to begin your commission?
